A Love Bug In The Shape Of A Dog

The final dog I walked to cap off my strange day was a goofy and lovable boy named Angus.

Angus is a Rottweiler and German Shepherd mix and estimated to be around three years old.

I’m not entirely sure why I felt drawn to walk such a large breed.

Maybe, in some odd way, I was seeking a sense of protection.

You’d think choosing a big dog would have the opposite effect, after all, a smaller breed might seem safer.

But whatever the reason, I’m glad I followed my instincts.

Like my earlier walk with Maleficent, Angus turned out to be just the companion I needed to help ease my mind after the day’s “drama.”

This boy is a total love bug and more than earns the title of “mega cuddler.”

Right out of the gate, I couldn’t move because he was hugging me.

The shelter staff had warned me that he’s a hugger, and they weren’t kidding.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t snap any head-to-tail photos of him because this sweet pup was camera shy and constantly wanted to stay close.

As a result, most of my photos are head-shots but they perfectly capture his funny and endearing personality.

Soo adorable

Even as I write this, I can’t help but smile when I think back to our walk.

I only walked him for 30 minutes, but in that short time, he left a lasting impression on my heart.

I truly hope Angus finds a home that’s perfect for him, where his larger than life antics can shine.
