How To Dog Sled In The Texas Summer Heat!

I never experienced the thrill of dog sledding while surrounded by the crisp chill snow air.

Instead, I did something much rarer and magical.

I experienced sledding in Texas led by one dog named Coldplay, a Siberian Husky mix.

This energetic pup was bursting with energy.

Our 1st interaction was him jumping on me and playing a game of “chomp the arm”.

I later learned from reading his bio, that his love for arm grabbing is a known behavior among the staff members.

A trait I wasn’t very fond of . . .

After our introduction, the fun really begun.

I was whisked away to our destination by a quick moving pup who honestly believed he was sledding to deliver an emergency cargo.

He me pulled with such strength that I had to triple wrap the leash around my wrist and arms.

I even have the evidence on my arms to prove that I went sledding in Texas on a hot August morning.

While all of this was happening, I kept imagining what a wild ride the journey would’ve been if I was on a skateboard leash in hand.

15 or 20 mins later his energy started to diminish and leveled to a nice pace without me gripping for dear life.

Coldplay is a breathtaking dog and a prime example of how a breed’s traits shape a dog’s instincts, allowing them to naturally tap into behaviors developed over generations.

Even if it means sledding across the hot Texas pavement.

You can find many adoptable pets looking for a loving home at the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter.

Don’t live near this city, consider visiting your local animal shelter to receive and provide love to an animal in need.

Pup update: Coldplay was rescued in late October 🙂
