Fall in Love With a Colossal Dog named Goliath

I’m thrilled to introduce you to an incredible pup, who is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his name.

His name is Goliath, and honestly, I have no idea why they chose that name for him . . .

Okay, I’m kidding!

His name fits him perfectly because this big boy is not only impressive in size but has a heart to match.

Meet Goliath:

Goliath is a one-year-old St. Bernard–Pyrenees mix, and wow, he’s every bit as majestic as you’d imagine.

This gentle giant has been at the shelter for 48 days, but I was lucky enough to walk him twice during his stay.

Each time we met, Goliath greeted me with his signature move: a giant bear hug.

When he stands on his hind legs, he’s so tall that he reaches my face!

It’s impossible not to laugh and smile when you’re around him, especially when you realize he thinks he’s smaller than he actually is.

Goliath adores being petted, and he’s hilariously ticklish.

He’s the ultimate love bug, stopping at nothing to nuzzle up for more affection.

Despite his size, walking with him was such a delight.

I half expected him to pull me along, but he was surprisingly gentle; proof that he’s truly a kind soul.

Now, full disclosure: I tried my best to snap some photos of Goliath during our walks, but he wasn’t interested in posing.

Instead, he kept leaning in for hugs, making it clear that his priority was love, not the limelight.

So while my photos aren’t perfect, I hope they capture his mighty presence and sweet personality.

As I was finishing up this post, I learned that a rescue will take Goliath out of the shelter!

I couldn’t be more thrilled.

This happy-go-lucky pup is finally getting the love and life he deserves.

Here’s to Goliath’s next big adventure, filled with plenty of belly rubs, endless hugs, and a home that adores him as much as I do. <3
