Howdy!
Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a handsome boy with a special name, Hank The Cow Dog!
I always wonder how they come up with these names.
Hank is listed as a German Shepherd mix and has an unusual neck issue.
The photos and video I took don’t quite capture it, but he has a constant neck tilt . . .
Despite this, he is still one handsome pup in my eyes!

I got to walk him because the same staff member who recommended I take Baby out also suggested Hank.
They have great instincts because Hank turned out to be a pretty good walking buddy.
Before bringing Hank to me, the staff warned me about his condition.
I reassured them it wouldn’t be a problem and that I’d keep our walk short.
They were happy to have me take him out since this boy is a notorious fence climber.
As soon as Hank came through the gate, he jumped up on me, such a happy, energetic pup!
I offered him a treat to see if he was interested, but he wasn’t.
Instead, he was eager to explore.

Once outside, Hank was laser-focused on our walk, he is a puller.
Rather than paying attention to treats, he was captivated by the birds, the sounds of the park, and the people passing by.
When it came to interacting with me, he seemed a bit indifferent.

I couldn’t tell if he just isn’t used to people or if he was too focused on his surroundings.
I decided to stop by the pup den to see if he’d be content just sitting and relaxing for a bit.
Nope!

This boy wanted to keep moving.
That’s understandable, given how much energy he has from being cooped up.
He paced back and forth, seeming uneasy, so I kept walking to help him burn off some of that energy.
Here is a short clip of him pacing.
Overall, I believe Hank The Cow Dog has the potential to be a wonderful part of a family.
With the right home and a little patience, he’s sure to thrive!
