Kokomi or as I like to call her, Koko for short since I always mistakenly call her Kagome, who is a character from the very the popular series Inuyasha, is a beautiful Husky who captivates those who cross her path.
It’s incredible the amount of compliments she received during our walks.
Is it possible to be jealous of a dog?
Yes, yes it is, but I don’t let it bother me . . . too much.

With all the compliments, how is it possible that she’s been in shelter for 53 plus days?
(Note: If you visit her current bio page the length of time that she’s been in the shelter will show a lower count because it resets when a dog is adopted but later returned to the shelter.)
You know the saying you can’t judge a book by its cover, I wonder if the same could be said for dogs.
With Huskies being a beautiful breed it’s no surprise that a number of perspective pet parents gravitate towards them like a moth to a flame.
But once you look past their beauty and focus on their natural drive and spirit, Huskies are a high-energy breed that thrives on plenty of mental stimulation and exercise.
Unfortunately hopeful pet parents don’t factor this in and they bring home a Husky only to return them to shelter when they realize their lifestyles don’t match.
(Note: I know some owners may feel ashamed and embarrassed about returning an animal to the shelter but it’s the most responsible choice you can make vs letting the animal fend for themselves in the wild. Kudos to those who have made the hard decision)
Anyways now that I got that off my chest let’s get back to chatting about Koko
Koko is incredibly awesome!
If my living situation was different I would adopt her in a heartbeat.
She has this air about her and has a pep in her step when she walks.
Just an all around friendly and confident energy.
A few adorable traits about Koko:
- She often chases the shadows of butterflies
- Likes pouncing at grasshoppers
- Birds are constantly on her radar and
- She behaves like a teenage when she is over something
Let me explain what I mean about behaving like a teenager.

During our walks we’ve been working on the sit command.
With a treat in hand she’ll gladly sit.
I wanted to level up her skill by teaching her the down command.
She would occasionally sorta lay down when I lowered the treat but not quite.
And when she wasn’t rewarded a treat she would let out a couple of whines of frustration signaling to me that she’s over the lesson and any chance of regaining her attention is out the window.
So onward we go on continuing our walk.
At the pup den she isn’t too restless during the 5 mins of downtime.
Her time is spent relaxing by enjoying plenty of belly rubs and people watching.

With her enchanting personality, Koko would make a wonderful addition to a loving home!
